The Nehemiah Story – Part Eight
The Plan
If you were building a fort to protect your family from evil intruders what would your specifications be for the walls? Would you want it to be tall enough that it couldn’t be scaled using normal methods? Would you want it to be thick and strong enough to withstand attempts at breaking it down or breaking through it? Would you want it to completely encircle the area where your family lived? If you suspected that an attack was imminent, would you post guards to protect the workers? Would you want it built quickly? Of course, you would include strong gates so that you and your family could go outside the walls to procure items that would not be available inside the fort.
After Nehemiah inspected the broken down walls and found them in disgrace, he devised a plan to accomplish everything mentioned in the last paragraph. Nehemiah was smart. He knew that stronger and stronger attacks would come and the people living inside the walls would have to be motivated to fight to keep there secure surroundings. If Nehemiah and his ‘army’ acted alone to rebuild the walls and restore the gates, he knew the residents wouldn’t have an ‘ownership’ attitude. Therefore, they wouldn’t fight as hard to keep the fort secured.
At all times, the Experiencing God Through Missions Inc management and missionaries are serving our God and doing our best to obey His commands and direction. We do it to glorify Him, not ourselves. But, being an evangelistic ministry, we realize that the time we serve in the area where God has sent us is very short. That’s why this ministry never acts alone. We endeavor to partnership with local churches and associations. They are the ones that will be ‘left behind’ to fight future battles. Our goal is to help provide them with tools to fight with. Tools such as church buildings, adult outreach efforts using Share Your Faith workshops, evangelistic gift packs, prayer coverings, outreach to kids through things such as VBS and the Kids Cube.
We feel that God is calling us to Wyoming, at least one more time, in 2009 to help the Christians, pastors and churches to build their ‘wall.’ Being a spiritual frontier state, they are already in a spiritual battle and the enemy will wage an even stronger battle. We are calling upon every theological conservative evangelical church in the great state of Wyoming to get in touch with us. Let’s form our partnerships so that during our precious two weeks in Wyoming (July 13 - 25) the enemy will see and experience a united front against his strategies.
If you are an associational spiritual leader, pastor, deacon, elder, lay leader or Christian in any of the other spiritual frontier states of Idaho, Utah or New England; we invite you to browse our website at www.egtminc.com. Take a look at what God is calling this ministry to do, and how He is directing us to do it. If these strategies agree with your strategy, let’s get together and plan for 2010 and beyond.
The next issue of this Newsletter will, mostly likely, contain the conclusion of The Nehemiah Story.
