Something for Everyone
When you read or hear about the 450,000 lost souls in Wyoming, do you feel something, or someone, tugging at your heart? Just before He ascended into heaven, do you know what Jesus last words were? Help the poor? No. Become a church member? No. Take care of your family? No. Become a doctor, lawyer or candlestick maker? No. Be a good person? No. As a Christian, all of these attributes are important and your everyday life should show that you are answering to a higher ‘standard’ than what the sinful secular world accepts.
You can study Jesus last earthly words in Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and Acts. You can use the KJV, NIV, NASB, Living Bible or any accurate translation, and you will receive the same message. His last words were a crystal clear message to all Christians – not just to preachers, deacons and Sunday School teachers – but to ALL Christians.
Why would He leave such a powerful message as He departed this earth? Didn’t He know that His apostles and disciples would continue to spread His Good News? Didn’t He know that Saul would become Paul and would lay the foundation for the modern day church? Didn’t He know that missionaries would spread out all over the world teaching the Truth?
He knew! He knew that for a period of time, Christianity would expand and grow until a large majority of the world was considered to be Christian. He also had spiritual eyes that could see into the future. He knew that by the 20th century the world would be turning against Him at an alarming rate. He knew that the United States, founded on Christian principles would ‘fall away.’ He knew that Wyoming, Utah, Nevada and the New England states would become spiritually dark. He knew that entire countries, such as Canada, would become an entire spiritual frontier!
Even the evil one knew of Jesus last words spoken on earth. He knew that he could not get the souls of the believers after their names were written in the Lambs Book of Life. He couldn’t get those, but he decided to destroy their Christian witness!
How? He stole your ‘time!’ Very, very few people have set aside any time to follow Jesus last instructions to Christians. Whether you are still working or retired, we know that your days and nights are packed with activities. But, think about it, how many of these ‘activities’ actually produce ‘fruit’ for our Lord? For His sake, could you chisel out just a little time each week? Even though it might appear to be small and insignificant, when your effort is added to the efforts of hundreds of others, it can have a big impact on reaching the lost souls in the spiritual frontiers.
Wyoming Mission 2009 is a God sized effort and we are expecting God sized results. As Mark 16:20 says “...and the Lord worked with them and confirmed His word by the signs that accompanied it.” Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the next great spiritual awakening broke out in Wyoming because of your efforts?
He is going to use hundreds and hundreds of people to accomplish His task. In the next Newsletters, we will be ‘unpacking’ all the various elements that make up WYM2009. Through a tugging at your heart strings, God will show you how He wants you to be a part of this much needed evangelism effort. This Newsletter is read by thousands of people since many of you forward it to your family and friends. We don’t know how to get in touch with you, so please, when you feel that ‘tugging,’ get in touch with us. We will help you find your place.
By the way, Jesus’ last words were, “...you (Christians) will be my witness .... to the ends (physically and spiritually) of the earth.”
